 John has been the owner of Twisters Gymnastics for 25 years! He has been working at Twisters since 1993! John himself was a gymnast for twelve years before he found a career within the sport. He coaches our developmental team levels three through ten, focusing on the athletes' confidence, positive mindset, and physical abilities. John loves to mentor and guide his athletes in achieving and working towards more challenging skills. To him, the most rewarding aspect of being a coach is being present and celebrating when an athlete acquires a new skill, no matter the event.

Drake was a multisport athlete growing up, ranging from Track and Field to Baseball. He has been a coach and directed our Ninja Program at Twisters since 2016. Drake coaches every ninja class we offer. He teaches his athletes the fundamentals of safe parkour, how to do flips, and how to land in many different ways. His favorite things to teach his athletes are backflips and round kicks. Drake is an amazing mentor to his athletes, teaching them not only safe ways to do parkour but also life skills, responsibility, and mental strength. He loves to watch the athletes he coaches exceed their own expectations and surpass the level of ability they had thought themselves capable, and Drake loves being a part of the mentors who have helped an athlete reach that state.

 Lisa has been a coach and the preschool director since 2010 at Twisters Gymnastics! She primarily focuses on our “Diaper Dinamo” and “Twisting Tornado” classes. Specifically, creating the lesson plans and skill focuses for those classes. Lisa has had a multitude of experiences in sports. Specifically, she was a professional figure skater and has even had the opportunity to tour with Disney on Ice and The Ice Capades! Lisa always keeps spirits high during class and enjoys working with toddlers and the parents, helping to shape the growing minds and bodies. Though for Lisa, her favorite thing about coaching and directing the preschool program is how she can channel her creativity into the lesson plans for our classes. She loves seeing the tiny athletes perform skills and grow, and then building off of their ability to create fun games, obstacles, and stations that she knows the children will love. 

Annie is our social director here at Twisters, along with being one of the coaches for our developmental program’s compulsory team and a coach for our preschool program. Annie was once a gymnast herself, and then followed her passion to become a coach. She has been a gymnastics coach since 2018 and started Twisters Gymnastics in the summer of 2025. Aside from coaching, Annie manages our Facebook and Instagram accounts, is in charge of promoting our events, and handles the photography for our website, social media, and any of our promotions. Annie’s favorite thing about being the social director is her ability to combine both of her passions, photography and gymnastics, and her ability to share gymnastics with an audience online. As a coach, Annie loves to be a solid guide for her athletes. She loves being able to instill confidence, composure, and joy within the children she coaches while also showing them how to balance fun and focus.

Caitlin has been our office manager since 2023. She graduated from UNI in 2023 and received her degree in business management! In her spare time, Caitlin loves to read a variety of books, listen to podcasts, and keep her mind sharp by doing puzzles. Inside Twisters Gymnastics, she oversees daily operations and supports both staff and families to ensure an organized, welcoming environment. Caitlin finds that one of the most fulfilling aspects of her position is the opportunity to build strong relationships with coaches, parents, and occasionally the children, even though direct interaction with them is limited. To Caitlin, forming these connections has been especially meaningful and adds a rewarding, personal dimension to her work.

Papa Cat has been around at Twisters Gymnastics for two years! He can seem nervous at first, but he is very loving and cuddly. Papa Cat loves his Delectables treats and getting pets on his back. His favorite human at Twisters Gymnastics is our Developmental Program Director, Brittany Steyne. He also loves seeing the bright smiling faces of all the children when walking in to attend their class. Papa Cat is also our fur-ever employee of the month!
